Madeleine Mercadante, PMHNP-BC, is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner accredited through the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP). She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from James Madison University and her Master of Science in Nursing from Old Dominion University, where she received both the Clinical Excellence Award and the Chair’s Award.
Ms. Mercadante specializes in treating anxiety, ADHD, OCD, and depression in patients ages 6 and older. Her clinical background includes experience as a pediatric intensive care unit nurse, a pediatric psychiatric nurse at CHKD, and a preoperative and postoperative nurse across multiple surgical specialties. These diverse roles, along with her volunteer work as a crisis counselor, have shaped her compassionate, well-rounded approach to mental health care.
She believes medication management is never “one-size-fits-all” and prioritizes individualized, collaborative treatment plans that align with each patient’s goals, preferences, and overall well-being.
